Hi artists, I consulted with many aspiring artists last week, and it was incredible to chat, plan and connect. Thank you for reaching out to me and trusting me with your aspirations. First of all I just want to take this time to thank you for opening my email weekly and responding to them. I started this coaching business because I want to help aspiring artists like you; the common thread that ties all of us together is our desire and passion to create and sell our art. Some of you have the liberty to create a full-time business with your art because it is the right season of your life, and some of you, especially the 9-5 artists with family and financial obligations, still need that liberty. It reminds me of when I started my art business; I came home from work, headed into my studio, and painted, burning the midnight oil till 4.
I think of those beginning seasons when everything is still new, with many unanswered questions on how to piece everything together. That inspired energy motivated me, but I wished I had someone to help me move along quicker, having more time to create and market my art instead of researching how to do just that, or worse yet correcting my mishaps along the way. Naturally, that was to be expected; I was unguided, inexperienced, and naïve I have many fond memories of making small original art to sell. I even opened a "special bank account" for all the money I’ve made from my art sales. Little did I know that was a beginning of an enterprise that has lasted me for over two decades! Listen, my creative friends, I know the world's economy is unsettling at the moment, but have you ever thought, instead of letting the chaos stop you from excelling, you'll take the opportunity to do the opposite? What if you can do what I did, keep your job for stability, and create a side hustle? Why not make some extra income with your artistic talent? Just hear me out; when I started my “special bank account,” other than investing on art shows and art supplies, I used that money to help out my husband’s new business and funded a few weekend get-a-way. Thoughtfully artists, if you have the talent to create art, why don't you use that as your leverage and start a side hustle so you can bring in extra money to help out in the family or improve your lifestyle? See what I mean? You can let your artistic talent help you curate your desired lifestyle, doing what brings you joy while maintaining your full-time job; it's a double-win. So Instead of letting the economy beat you down, use your talent and make it work for you. And instead of struggling, make money from your art and welcome money coming in. If you are afraid to invest in a full-time venture, how about investing in a part-time business instead? This way you can steadily improve your income or lifestyle with your side hustle without financial constraints. We are all in different walks of life; there is not just one straight path; you have to pick one that works for you and is truly authentic to your life. Tell me in the comment below, what you would like to do with your side hustle money from your art sales each month? And I'll help you figure out how to do just that on my next issue. P/S 10% off private consultation promotion is over by midnight tonight. With Creative Joy, Ting
