Hey artist, do you want to stand out from your competition? If the answer is "yes", the best way to do this is to differentiate yourself from your peers. There are many ways to do that. Since you are an artist, your art and products should set you apart from your peers. But what about Branding? Well, branding can be many things: it could be visual, for example, the cohesive design of your website, social media, newsletter, etc., basically a unique look that represents your brand consistently throughout your marketing materials. Although visual branding is effective but so is a Verbal Branding such as a Tagline. If you want to create a unique experience for your customers that stands out from your competition, then you need a punchy catchphrase that describes what your art is about. And the most effective way to shout out what you represent is by saying it on your tagline. Place your catchphrase on your website and marketing materials as a consistent effort of telling your customers who you are or what you do.
Since my art is about life, dreams, and aspirations with a spiritual undertone, my Tag line is: “Let Art be the Healer and Motivator of your Life.” Here are three simple steps to creating a memorable tagline: It should be a short 1-3 sentences catchphrase that summarizes your brand and your art. It should describe your values to your customers so that they know what you stand for. Which will add to the know and trust factor of your brand.
Once you have come up with a catchy phrase, put it on your website, social media, or any marketing materials you see fit. Here are a few household brands and their taglines. Wendy’s restaurant: "You know when it is Real." Apple: “Think different.” Verizon: “ Can you hear me now? Good.” L’ Oreal: "Because you are worth it." DeBeers: "A diamond is forever." Meow Mix: “So Good, Cats Ask for It by Name” So there you have it, friend. Having a catchy Tagline is an effective way to brand yourself and let people know what you and your art are all about.
