"Art is an experience. It is not just something you hang on the wall. Art demands conversation and amplifies an ambiance. The way to create work that deeply elevates your customers’ experience is by having a relatable and engaging connection." Art buyers and collectors love art that speaks more than beauty because they want something meaningful. Dear artists, do you create art that no one can relate to, or do you have a hard time conveying the meaning behind your painting? I adore art that tells stories. It can be any genre of art, stories are vital to art because it helps the artist to connect with his/her audience. Use Symbolism to Communicate with your Art Patrons.
My artwork is storytelling. I create a dream world where everything is possible. I love to use symbolism in my work because it is fascinating, and unlike words, it is mysterious and needs decoding. The complexity comes from Dreams, Folklores, to Religions. Objects, animals, colors can all convey different messages. The art movement of symbolism is a response to realism and impressionism. You also find writers, musicians, visual artists, or any creative vocations utilize symbolism in storytelling. The other thing I love about using symbolism is that you can be personal with it. We all have our unique interpretations of objects, animals, or things that mean something personally. Use your personal meanings to convey something intimate in your paintings and share them with your viewers. Symbolism makes your work not only decorative, it also builds additional value and represents a concept beyond what you see on the surface. I have created an easy-to-use guide called, The Fascinating Language Of Symbolism. It is an introduction to a new world that will improve your communication skills with your audience and art collectors. I encourage you to use this list and your personal references often. You will discover the use of symbolism tremendously helpful in conveying your message across in your artwork. It is a rewarding and meaningful way for you to build a relationship with your audience.
