My galleries are filled with countless memories, and not just the red dots on my original artwork make the experience worthwhile. What truly stands out are the unique and genuinely heartwarming connections I've formed with my clients. Hello, It’s been a while since I introduced myself to my fellow artists. My name is Ting; I’ve been an artist and gallerist for 24 years. Before Covid and the pandemic, I operated my award-winning galleries in British Columbia, Canada. I enjoyed having my gallery tremendously because having a live audience consistently is a pleasure. I also got to greet and chat with my clients personally. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work was witnessing my audience engage with my art and connect with me. My art, which often tells stories of love, dreams, and aspirations, bridges my inner core. Through these stories, I've forged deep connections with my audience. What brings me the greatest joy is when my audience is inspired by my stories and feels compelled to share their own with me. I am deeply grateful that my art can spark conversations with kindred spirits, especially in a world where hearts are often guarded.
I want to share this with you today because I want you to know that art is a lovely pleasure in life. However, as an artist, you can connect with the world on a deeper level by understanding your mission; when you know your vision, you have the power to enlighten someone’s life and find common ground to relate to and nurture. Your mission as an artist could be to evoke certain emotions, tell a specific story, or inspire change. And when that connection is made, you realize that the world is not so big after all because of our united universal consciousness. What a blessing it is to connect at this higher frequency. When that connection is made, sales happen naturally. Mastering the art of curating a sellable collection is not a far-fetched dream. It’s a reality I’ve achieved, selling 85-90% of my art selection year after year. This success is not because my art is extraordinary but because I’ve honed the skill of making connections with my audience by curating my collection to empower my audience. For instance, I've created pieces that reflect their experiences or that they can interpret uniquely. I've also provided context and stories behind the art to make it more meaningful to them. You can do this by using symbolism and stories in your art. Remember, art is more than just beautifying your home; it's about your personal voice, mission, and giving of your heart. Painting without a mission in mind is the difference between reading a textbook vs a ravishing novel. Before you pick up a paintbrush next time, ask your soul what it desires to express in the world. I would love to hear what kind of art you create. Please leave your comment below and let's chat.
