Beyond having a business that I love, my mission is to empower women to channel their strength to build the life of their dream. The biggest challenge for me is encouraging creative women artists to believe in themselves. The Anatomy of a Creative Mind One thing about us creative people is that we are talented and unconventional. Our minds go at 100 miles per hour, and our attention span is even worse! We don't think and do things like most people. We may celebrate our creative prowess, but we also need to support it with the right mindset and organized thinking. Since I opened my art business, I realized that I have to do things more planned out to succeed; spontaneity wasn't going to cut it anymore. The Artist-Entrepreneur
Becoming an artist-entrepreneur comes with a new set of habits. Goal setting and getting things accomplished became a daily thing. When I opened my art gallery, things got serious. I had to step up my game on my art, sales, and marketing skills. Everything I learned at that time was from experience, and because I was operating my business every day, I learned quickly by taking daily action. Women Empowerment More than 20 years later, I realized that my painting was just a catalyst for expanding my mind and thinking beyond my craft in the art business. It is more about what I can do with my talent to create a viable inspiring business and at the same time empower women. Today, I want to encourage you to take the first step to know that having the creative life that you have always dreamt of is possible. I know once you are ready to commit to creating a business with your art, you will realize to be successful at it, you got to up-level your skill in your craft, mindset, and business knowledge. But the thing is, dreamers and creators, you have to commit, and you have to be a warrior in your art and business dealings. There is no time to let your fear slow you down or keep you inadequate. I have Faith in YOU As a creator, I know we learn fast; we are like sponges absorbing everything new. But we are not good at marketing and selling. We may make excuses for our poor business habits by saying that our minds don't operate that way or that we are introverts. Well, sorry to burst your bubble; but the reality is if you're going to be a successful artist and before you can hire anyone to assist you; you have to learn to do a lot of things that you've never done before. It takes some learning and doing to get fluent in business, I have done it and I know you can too. No More Excuses If you don't change your mindset and habits of doing things, you will have difficulty succeeding in business. Don't let your discomfort and fear stop you from operating your business. It is not that complicated; it takes some strategic thinking and implementation. Creative people are fast learners, and because we are resilient, we can overcome any challenges. Don't make excuses for your shortfalls; instead, rise above them and learn to overcome them.
