Hey artist, some of us are nomadic, and some of us are rooted. Being a nomad, I have an adventurous spirit, I may displace myself every four years but I need my security too. My art business is my counter-balance; it provides stability and security. It gives me the means to move, travel, and grow my career continuously. And your business can give you your desired lifestyle as well! You see, artists, you have to be mindful of your art-making and marketing efforts. You also have to be disciplined in your finances; be aware of your profit and expenses. If you want to turn your talent into a viable business, you have to start treating it as one.
The way I do it. Every year, I set out an income projection then I plan out revenue streams to reach my goal. Next, I map out a strategy for each of my revenue streams and see if the income projections and timelines are achievable. Lastly, I schedule them in my calendar and execute them. The planning stage is crucial because it allows me to strategize with clarity, which takes away the guesswork. If it fails to produce the income I have predicted, I set out actions to correct the course. You can predict your future by reverse engineering your end goals. Work backward; let’s say you want to make $25,000 in your first year as an artist; think about what you need to do to get there. And then set out a plan to execute them. Always start with the one that will bring you the best income. Tonight, I would like you to take a little time to sit down and make a business goal projection for the year. Here are 4 simple steps on how to do this. Here are the 4 Steps
Be proactive but realistic; remember everything takes time to nurture and grow. Allot time for each of your projects and schedule time between creation and launching. Timing is vital to marketing, so be sure to check out your calendar and ensure that your projections are going as planned. If it fails to produce the income you have predicted, set actions to correct the course. If you don't know where you stand in your art venture, I have created a workbook with 15 questions to help you put things in perspective. It will help you forecast your past action vs. results, giving you an idea of how to project your 2022. This exercise enables you to reflect on your past year's performance and gives you a great view of what to launch for the new year. It is the only way to make way and set intentions for the new year. Well, don't wait for your year in review any longer; Click here for your workbook and get started. With Creative Joy, Ting https://www.facebook.com/groups/creatingaprofitableartbusinessforartists/
