Hi artist, if you are unsure that your art is good enough to sell, don’t worry; you are not alone in your fear; every artist goes through precisely the same question before selling their work. My tiny 600 square footage apartment was filled up to the brim with art before I was ready to sell my work. I was petrified, and my overflowing collection of art was the evidence of my procrastination and doubt. When I finally picked up my courage and sold my work, I didn’t do too shabby; I sold a few here and there. But what spurred my breakthrough was when a gallerist reviewed my portfolio. I received the correct input that gave me the needed strategy to further my artistic endeavor, and that is when I started selling more art consistently. As we head into the new year, there is so much hope and wishes for the future.
Perhaps you want to start a side hustle with your art and one of the many questions you may have is; if your art is good enough to make you the extra income. I know that is a daunting question. Every artist goes through the same questions when starting. Even the ones that have gone through many years of schooling feels vulnerable. So it is not just you; sharing your art does feel like you are standing naked on stage, exposing what is personal to the world. The thing is, artists; there is no easy way to determine if your art is good enough. |
