“You were born an original, don't die a copy.” ― John Mason.
Hey artist, Do you follow art trends, and should you care about them? Does it help or hurt your art career? Well, I think that depends on how you use the trend. Do you incorporate it into your art and develop it into your own, or do you follow it blatantly without originality? My opinion is if you want to follow trends, do it because it speaks to you and you have an idea of how to incorporate it into your style and messaging. Don’t do it just because it’s trending. I understand sometimes you do it for business reasons, but be very wary of that. This is what happens when you follow trends.

It is an industry-standard for all artists to have a Biography because it is an essential part of art marketing.
Hi Artist, I know writing an Artist Biography is a daunting task because it is too personal. You are either afraid to sound too boastful or inadequate depending on the span of your art career. But let me put your mind at ease. It doesn’t matter if your art career has been short or long because you can still craft an appealing and inspiring biography without sounding like you are arrogant or inexperienced. Hello Artist, Growing your Facebook followers does take some work. One thing you don't want to do is lose the followers that are already following you.
One easy way to do that is by barfing out SALES constantly. Remember FB is a Social Network. People are there to socialize and browse on Pages for entertainment value. It is not a marketplace, most people don't think of Facebook when they want to purchase something. Instead, use FB as a free platform to talk about your work, introduce your art to new people, and attract new followers. Treat it as a gateway to your website and entice your new followers to sign up for your newsletters, and from there, make them into your customers. It doesn't mean you can't sell art via FB but don't use it as your website. Each platform has its own purpose, do not confuse your Website with Social Networks. "The problem I had in building my art business was relying on people noticing me. I did not have a plan in terms of art production or marketing. I just haphazardly created things occasionally and hoped people would notice and even buy. While I had the skills, I need help with everything else. Not having the consistency in art-making or the marketing skills I needed to get my work out there felt pretty demoralizing." ~ Amy Angheluta
